Children’s Rhyme Twelve

Colyne Stewart
Sep AS XXXVII (2003)

Dark Skeldergate’s a horrid place,
That’s what people say.
They told me not to go there,
They said to stay away.

Fearfully I crept there;
The monsters found me out.
Turned to see me staring,
Raised their heads to shout.

“Come on down and join us!
Come and join the fun!”
The monsters here weren’t monster,
They stood out in the sun.

The people there were friendly,
The atmosphere alive.
Dark tales are told of Skeldergate
And all of them are lies.
